Organize a coherent narrative
Mission progress0%
Begin by selecting your strongest evidence.
Module 15 · Step 7 of 11 · Structure12–15 min
Why this lab Order your evidence so the narrative carries the argument.
Your selected evidence must tell one story. Write a unifying statistical question, then connect each artifact to that question in a logical flow: question → data → methods → results → limitations.
Before you hand it over · what a reproducible handoff contains
- Everything another analyst needs to regenerate it: a versioned data snapshot, project-relative paths, the package environment (versions or a lockfile), and a README explaining how to regenerate every output from a clean session.
- What a seed does and does not do: a random seed fixes the random sequence within one setup. A seed does not freeze the data, the code or the package versions; change any of those and the result can change even with the same seed.
- Estimates carry uncertainty: a final defense reports an estimate with its uncertainty and the population it describes, never as an exact prediction for every future case.
Narrative framework
- Question: What is the overarching statistical question your portfolio answers?
- Data: What data did you use, and where did it come from?
- Methods: Which techniques from which modules did you apply?
- Results: What did you find? Which visualizations best communicate the findings?
- Limitations: What can your analysis not support? Be honest.
