The TExES Core Subjects EC-6 (391) certifies teachers to teach kindergarten through grade 6 in Texas public schools. It replaced the old Core Subjects EC-6 (291) in January 2022, and the structure changed in a way that matters for your prep: the 391 is made up of five separately passed subject exams. Mathematics (902) is its own exam — 40 questions, about 70 minutes, with its own 240 passing score.
